My husband and I have just returned from 4 days in the Lake District in the 4 berth California and it has been fantastic. From first enquiry to drop off, Ellen and Phil have been professional and friendly in equal measure and nothing was too much trouble for them. The van itself lives up to its reputation as the Swiss Army knife of the campervan world, but what really made it for us was Phil and Ellen’s thoughtful additions based on their own experiences of the campervan lifestyle. We’re thinking to buy one ourselves in the near future, and will definitely be returning to them for another try-out rental as they are so knowledgeable and passionate about these amazing vehicles.
The complimentary biscuits were just the ticket at the summit of one of our hill climbs! Thanks again and see you soon for our next adventure!

My 3 daughters, 6, 8,13 and I, hired the VW California for 3 nights. We had all the fun of the outdoors in the day with the warmth and comfort the van had to offer at night, cosy beds, heating, which we had on all night. The girls enjoyed the table for evening board games. The van was extremley clean and looked new. It held all the essential cooking equipment, plus some extra bits like coffee sachets, tea bags and some sweets for the children. I was shown around the van by Phil, which was really useful, there were lots of useful things that I would not have known about. We stayed in one place this time, but may try an adventure tour next. An experience not to be forgotten, great value, great service, would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic weekend at Soul Circus thanks to Explore Campervans. The van was immaculate with everything and more that you need. Such a fantastic use of space. We had our 16 month old baby and black lab. Both settled well and were very happy in their home for the weekend. The water tank lasted all weekend, the cooking facilities were brilliant. There was lots of space for our luggage (we brought our clothes on hangers and utilised the wardrobe). Ellen and Phil couldn’t be more helpful and attentive to check we had everything we needed. Poppy enjoyed her extra dog treats too, thank you.
